Seventeen Tasman college rugby players have been selected to attend next week's Crusader Junior Knights camp at Lincoln University.
The players, representing Nelson College, Waimea College and Marlborough Boys College, plus one from the Huia club, will attend the combined development and selection camp as part of the selection process for the New Zealand secondary schools and NZSS Barbarian teams.
The programme replaces the July selection and national tournament structure from previous years.
The camps are run in all five franchises with the Christchurch camp, from July 2 to 6, managed by Canterbury and Tasman resources and providers.
The camp is attended by New Zealand secondary schools coaching staff and regional New Zealand age group selectors and will focus on positional specific coaching and individual performance planning.
There will one-on-one tutoring and scenario-based training culminating in a game. Players will start their development in the six pillars: technical, tactical, physical, mental, nutrition and personal development.
