Waitohi and Central became the first Marlborough teams to claim wins in this season’s E’stel Tasman Trophy competition, Waitohi downing Renwick 43-26 at Endeavour Park while at Awarua Park, home side Moutere were beaten 41-19 by Central.
In a double header on Trafalgar Park, Waimea Old Boys eased past Stoke 27-25 on the final whistle, and Wanderers got up 26-22 over Nelson in what most pundits would call an upset. Over at Sports Park Motueka, Marist gave Kahurangi a toweling, 57-0.
