Tasman Rugby (TRU)
are seeking a Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Women’s
High-Performance Development Program.
The
successful candidate will have responsibility for the development, monitoring
and conditioning of identified female players in the Tasman region.
2019, Tasman
Rugby was the first province in New Zealand to launch a successful Women’s High-Performance
Program. In 2020, TRU will look to expand on the success of this year and further
develop identified players to Mako and New Zealand representation. We pride
ourselves on delivering a professional, high-performance program, that will lead
the way in New Zealand across all sporting codes.
The successful applicant
will have access to world-class facilities and work alongside top coaches and
providers, including psychologists, dietitians, physiotherapists, and the lead Mako
trainer. The successful applicant will have a direct working relationship with
the Black Ferns and NZ Sevens coaching and management staff.
Applicants
should have a good knowledge and understanding of the high-performance
environment in rugby as well as outstanding organisational, communication and
interpersonal skills. Applicants should have a Degree (or higher) in Sport or
Exercise Science (desirable) and the experience / capability to:

Deliver rugby specific speed, strength and conditioning sessions;

Work with IT, and specific sports programs as required;
·
Develop and implement specific strength, conditioning and rehabilitation
programs for players;
·
Track and provide summary reports on players regularly;
·
Demonstrate up to date knowledge of sport science concepts;
·
Work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic team environment;
The role is based at Tasman Rugby Union,
Nelson, with an ability to travel within the region as/when required. The role
is part time, contract work.
