QuayConnect / Central Express Limited (CEL) have become the Tasman Mako team’s newest Brand Sponsor, taking up a position on the side panel of the playing jersey for the next three years.
QuayConnect has partnered with Central Express Ltd (CEL), a freight trucking company, to deliver a sea-change in the way goods flow around the world – an innovative supply chain and product distribution model especially developed for the particularly in the wine industry across the Top of the South..
“Port Nelson and QuayConnect are looking forward to partnering up with the Tasman Mako this season. We are privileged to be playing a small part towards contributing to hopefully another successful season for the Union “, said Eugene Beneke, General Manager, Business Development.
Jason Millar, Director of CEL comments “It’s rewarding to be supporting the Tasman Mako, a team that is at the heart of a community in a region that is so valuable to our business. The Top of the South is such an abundant, vibrant region and the Mako team are a true reflection of this. We are Looking forward to being a part of a successful season ahead. Fins up!”
Tasman Rugby Union CEO Tony Lewis is delighted to have one of Port Nelson’s key businesses in QuayConnect and their freight partner CEL on the Mako jersey, supporting rugby in the Nelson Bays and Marlborough communities.
“The wine industry is a major economic driver in Te Tau Ihu and for these businesses to recognise the value of rugby to connect with their stakeholders is particularly pleasing. We welcome the involvement of Port Nelson, Quay Connect and Central Express in our game and our Union”.
Based at the Patterson Logistics Centre at Port Nelson, QuayConnect’s location is New Zealand's largest on-port wine storage facility, through which QuayConnect and CEL move more goods, more efficiently and saves customers money while significantly reducing the wine industry's very real impact on the environment.
The supply chain connecting wine maker to wine consumer is a long one. Ensuring product quality from grape to glass is CEL’s number one priority, and CEL has invested at all stages of that supply chain to meet the demands of an essential and rapidly growing kiwi export industry.
QuayConnect has been acknowledged with two prestigious national awards – the Ministry for the Environment 2017 Green Ribbon Award (Resilience to Climate Change) and the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Award for Innovation in the Transport and Logistics Sector, along with a finalist placing in the 2017 Deloitte Energy Excellence Awards.
