The TRU representative teams including Tasman Mako men and women are now using supplements from a New Zealand company, PowerAmp® Sports Limited. PowerAmp has developed a batch tested range of products including a rehydration drink, specifically designed to meet the needs of elite players and endurance athletes.
New Zealand Rugby now has a zero tolerance on the use of performance enhancing substances as defined by the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) list of banned substances. Drug testing will occur at all levels of rugby from the highest level to First XV.
PowerAmp is part of the Informed Sport programme, which requires every production batch of PowerAmp sports nutrition to be tested and certified by an independent, WADA -approved testing laboratory (Informed-Sport; UK).
This means that every product sold to an athlete or their training staff, carries an independent Certificate of Analysis proving that it is free from banned substances. This certificate is available online or from PowerAmp® directly.
PowerAMP sports nutrition products are all made in New Zealand and each batch is tested for banned substances, in the UK. While still a new company, they have been selling to NZ teams within Super Rugby, as well as some provincial unions.
