UC Championship Round 13 Wrap

The Marlborough Boys' College First XV scored a notable win in Blenheim today, tipping over St Thomas of Canterbury 55-17 in the University of Canterbury schools rugby championship. 

They will play a knockout match next weekend against traditional rivals Nelson College in Nelson. 

MBC turned on the razzle-dazzle to score nine tries, including doubles to Liam Duncan, Tino Vakaloa and Lotu Solomona, as they cemented a place in the second tier plate competition for the forthcoming play-offs.

Keelan Murrell, Ben O'Sullivan, and Clyde Paewai scored MBC's other tries, Murrell booting four conversions and Dylan McManaway one. 

Nelson College beat Mid Canterbury 63 – 5 on the weekend but lost to Christ’s College mid-week to deny themselves a Cup semi-final. Waimea College lost to Shirley Boys 45 – 14.
