Rugby focuses on enjoyment not wins

The days of the abusive side-line parent are becoming a thing of the past as junior sport continues to put emphasis on enjoyment and off winning. The Tasman union’s age-grade rugby saw a 38 percent reduction in red and yellow cards last season, a statistic that is being attributed to several initiatives to improve the game.

Position Vacant: Personal Development Manager

The New Zealand Rugby Union, the New Zealand Rugby Players’ Association and the Tasman Rugby Union are looking for a new Personal Development Manager. The role is a contractor and is for a fixed term period of 24 months and it is expected to be approximately 24 hours per week.

E’STEL TASMAN TROPHY - RD 9 FIXTURES & RD 8 RESULTS

The match of round 9 will feature two Top 4 teams, Marist and Waitohi going head to head at Tahunanui. Wanderers will be looking to consolidate their spot in the Top 4 when hosting East Coast at Brightwater, Kahurangi will host the improving Central at Sports Park Motueka, Nelson will want to continue the momentum of their usual E’stel Tasman Trophy challenge at Renwick while Stoke will be looking for points when last placed Moutere visit Greenmeadows.
