Become a Referee

Get the best view of the Game. The referees of Marlborough & Nelson Bays welcome people who who want to be actively involved with our Game. If you are keen to:

Keep fit and involved with Rugby
Communicate with Players to allow them to play their best
Be part of a team of social and like-minded people

Then being a Referee is a great role for you.

All you need is a pair of boots, a reasonable level of Fitness, enthusiasm and a willingness to learn. You will be provided with a uniform, whistle, touch flags, Law Book and assistance with travel expenses for long trips.

There is an introduction to refereeing course and then your first matches will be at Junior Level. Progression from there will depend on enjoyment, desire and ability to move into higher grades.
