Talented young pivot targets Makos recall [Marlborough Express]

Daniel Hawkins is a man on a mission, a two-fold rugby mission for club and province. Still just 21 years old, the highly skilled first-five has made a brilliant start to the Marlborough club rugby season, playing major roles in Waitohi's two convincing wins as they chase a rare threepeat of premierships. He has had a taste of NPC rugby, having made his debut for the Tasman Makos in 2010, but last season failed to make the cut and is determined to make it back into the side for 2013.
