POSITION VACANT: Chief Executive Officer

New Zealand’s premier Provincial Rugby Union is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive Officer.

Tasman Rugby Union (TRU) provides community rugby participation and pathways in Marlborough and Nelson / Tasman and fields teams in NZ’s national men’s and women’s national provincial championships. The men’s team are 2019 and 2020 Premiership champions.

Tony Lewis to leave TRU for role with Western Force

Tasman Rugby Union is on the hunt for a new CEO after Tony Lewis resigned just before Christmas. Tony has been in charge of the union since 2013 and has lead the union to back-to-back Mitre 10 Cup titles as well as successfully hosting an All Blacks test match in Nelson for the first time.

He is leaving to take up the position as CEO of the Western Force union based in Perth, Australia.

POSITION VACANT: Game Development Manager

Tasman Rugby Union is seeking a GAME DEVELOPMENT MANAGER to provide Leadership, Development & Management for community rugby; provide liaison and communication with affiliated organisations; and provide operational support.

POSITION VACANT: Community Rugby Adminstrator

Tasman Rugby Union is currently seeking a part time (30 hrs per week) 7-month fixed term (Feb–Aug) opportunity within the Community Rugby team at Tasman Rugby Union.

Mako book Trafalgar date with Steamers [Peter Jones]

For the eighth consecutive season Tasman will feature in the Mitre 10 Cup play-offs. The Mako have been around at the business end of the season since 2013, when they made it all the way to the championship final, then tipped over Hawke’s Bay to join the premiership.

Nelson to host Black Ferns v Barbarians game

An afternoon match on Saturday November 21 has been scheduled between the Black Ferns and a NZ Barbarians side at Trafalgar Park– the final fixture in a series that has ensured some game time for the defending world champions ahead of their title defence next year.

Nelson College claim a special Quad victory

Nelson College claimed the 94th Quadrangular Tournament with a 33 - 22 win over Christ's College. They had previously beaten Wellington College 29 - 26 on Tuesday. The title also coincides with the 150th anniversary of the first rugby game played in Nelson.
