Waimea, Wanderers book path to semis [Nelson Mail]

Waimea Old Boys cemented top billing while Wanderers ended two weeks' frustration ahead of next weekend's Car Company Nelson Bays rugby championship semifinals.

Star and Garter Waimea scored a 41-23 bonus point victory over Kahurangi at Jubilee Park on Saturday to finish one point clear of Taylors Contracting Wanderers who scored 31 second-half points to bury a 14-man Accessman Stoke side 42-7 at Brightwater.

Waimea and Kahurangi will do it all over again in next Saturday's semifinals, with Wanderers due to face Galbraith Group Nelson in a rematch of their contentious Tasman Trophy final.
